About Dai Morgan

Dai Morgan is a painter, working primarily with acrylics on canvas. Residing in Western Pennsylvania, he has exhibited throughout the United States.

Morgan works in a naturalistic style with special interest in the use and effects of light. Typical subject matter are landscapes, portraits, still lives and assemblage compositions. He likes to play with trompe l’oiel, surrealism and allegory.

Morgan studied at the Art Department of Carnegie Mellon University. He has taught at the Hoyt Institute in New Castle, PA; the Community College of Allegheny County; and St. Vincent College, Latrobe, PA.

His work is contained in many private and public collections, including: The Pennsylvania State Museum, Harrisburg, PA; The Heinz History Center, Pittsburgh, PA; The Allegheny County Airport Authority; The Chautauqua Institute, N.Y.; The Latrobe Conservation Trust, Latrobe, PA; and others.
